Fred is described by his veterinary team as an incredibly sweet and resilient cat. Even while enduring a devastating injury, he never lost his gentle spirit.

After becoming trapped in a fence, Fred suffered a severe injury to his hind leg. The damage was extensive, with deep wounds, significant tissue loss, and a non-viable limb. Amputation was the only option to relieve his pain and give him the opportunity for a full recovery.

His owner had already exhausted her financial resources on Fred’s initial treatment and medications, leaving her unable to afford the surgery he urgently needed.

Through the Care Beyond Limits Fund, Fred was approved for life-changing care at Andover Animal Hospital. The fund helps pets receive critical veterinary treatment when financial barriers might otherwise stand in the way.

Today, Fred has a second chance. While he’ll be navigating life on three legs, his veterinary team expects him to do what cats do best – adapt, recover, and continue ruling the household.
