Gustav had one seriously scary morning.
A fire destroyed his family’s home, leaving the 2-year-old cat trapped inside for nearly five hours before he was found and rescued.
When Gustav arrived at South Metro Animal Emergency Care, he was covered in soot with melted material stuck to his fur. While he thankfully had no obvious burns, his breathing raised serious concerns about prolonged smoke inhalation, and he needed oxygen therapy and close monitoring.
With the help of the Care Beyond Limits Fund, Gustav was able to be hospitalized and receive the care he needed after a scary event!
With a good prognosis and a veterinary team behind him, Gustav was able to focus on recovering and getting back home with his family.
